Off The Track with Ronald McDonald 5K race set for September 10, 2022
The Stable has joined forces with Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest (RMHC-UM) to host a family-friendly 5K race at the beautiful Hyland Lake Park Reserve on Saturday, September 10, 2022. All event proceeds will be donated to RMHC-UM as part of the Foundation’s effort to give back to the local community.
RMHC-UM is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a comfortable and caring home-away-from-home that supports keeping families together and reduces stress during a child’s serious illness. With five Minnesota locations, “the House that Love Built” proudly offers complimentary meals and support to hundreds of family members every day as well as overnight accommodations to 76 families every night. Last year, the organization served more than 2,000 families from across the state and around the region.
“Ronald McDonald House Charities is an organization that’s very near to our hearts,” said Stephanie Propp, Head of People and Culture at The Stable. “RMHC has a presence in each city The Stable has an office in and we’ve had employees who have needed and benefited from their services, making it a cause that the entire team can rally behind across the nation. We’ve worked to fundraise on their behalf in the past, but this year, we really wanted to take it to the next level by getting the broader Minneapolis community involved with a 5K race.”
Off The Track with Ronald McDonald attendees can either run or walk to raise funds for the organization. Can’t attend in person? Virtual participants are welcome, too! All registrants will receive a medal, swag bag complete with treats from The Stable’s generous brand partners, and an event t-shirt.
“We’re so excited to partner with The Stable to introduce this event to the community,” says Jill Evenocheck, RMHC-UM President and CEO. “Families with seriously ill and injured children need our support, and participating in a family-friendly event like Off The Track is a great way to make that happen.”
